Fall seems to have arrived on schedule this year and we’re relishing every moment in case it disappears as it’s apt to do in our neck of the woods. This is the kind of weather we look forward to al year. We endure six months of miserable heat and not much of a winter so we can enjoy these short weeks of fall, which doesn’t arrive at all some years.
On the morning of our first cold front, the boys popped out of bed with a new energy. Nye couldn’t wait to wear long pants and sleeves and a jacket. He wanted to wear mittens and a hat, but we persuaded him against it. Callahan was confused by the long pants and kept pulling the pant leg up as it was weird having them brush the tops of his feet.
We've been using the fireplace at night and have been sleeping with the windows open so we can bury ourselves under the covers. Even the cats want to come in at night.
We’re squeezing every opportunity out of this cool weather. You never know how long it will last.
