Like younger siblings, Callahan wants to be a “big boy” like Nye. A few developments in this vein:
Callahan scoffs at sippy cups. He wants regular cups like everyone else. We’ve compromised and only limit the sippy to milk. He thinks the best thing about a “cup” is that you can fill it at the refrigerator door water dispenser, take a sip, pour it the cup of water into the sink, and then start all over again. We’ve had serious overflow issues more than once.
About a month ago, Callahan climbed out of his crib during naptime. I happened to walk in as he was about to step onto the floor. Surprisingly, he hasn’t done this again (that we know of). Nye loved his crib and didn’t climb out until he was 33 months old.
Cal makes an admirable effort to sit on the potty to do his business. About half the time, he alerts us in time to make it. The other half … well, he’s not even 2 yet. We’re just pleased that he’s thinking along these lines.
